From playing in Scotland for Grange CC in Murgitroyd T20 matches, my game’s more suited  towards white-ball cricket, T20 and one-day internationals, so County Championship cricket  and multi-day cricket is a bit of an unknown to me.

Realistically speaking I’m probably more likely to be playing in the three-day format but if  an opportunity arises to represent the first team I’ll take it with both hands. The process of settling in at Northants over the last year or so has been made easier by living with David Murphy and Olly Stone, they have been really helpful in helping me settle in and  around Northampton.

David is one of the senior players at Northants, one of the longest serving players at the club  so it’s always useful to have him on side to introduce me to teammates and people I haven’t met.

I think the only two players I haven’t met are Richard Levi and Rory Kleinveldt but other than that the players are a really good bunch and easy to get on with, they have made me feel  comfortable rather than making me feel out of my depth.

After spending this pre-season with Northants, I’m definitely looking forward to the new  season, and I’m looking forward to the challenges that it has to bring.
